Lester's Super Spool
Pickup currently unavailable
The Super Spool is available for all Lester’s SE pullers that have a Down-Off-Up Switch. The SE models can easily be converted from a Spool to a Crab/Lobster puller by switching to a Lester's Puller sheave and hub and back to a Spool.
Lester’s Super Spool is versatile and can be utilized for a variety of marine and research
activities. Common applications include crabbing, lobstering, both commercial and sport
fishing, and setting or retrieving research equipment. Its design also allows it to be
employed for numerous other tasks where reliable line management is required.
Lester’s Super Spool is designed with a robust 3-inch Delrin center hub that features a
stainless-steel quick release pin for convenient removal. The hub is precisely machined
to fit ¾-inch puller motor shafts, ensuring compatibility and secure attachment. At the
center of the hub, a ½-inch machined hole is provided to accommodate rope, wire, or
cable. Surrounding the hub, the outer flanges of the spool measure 10 inches in
diameter and are contoured for optimal performance. These flanges are constructed
from approximately 1/8-inch-thick aluminum, which is both Cerakoted for durability and
engraved for identification.
The Super Spool is engineered for adaptability and can be fitted onto other pullers
available in the market that have a ¾-inch shaft. It is suitable for use with pullers that
are equipped with, or can be converted to, an up-off-down switch, which Lester’s can
provide. The pullers can then easily be converted back and forth from a
Crab/Lobster puller to a Spool.
